Onto those crimes.
- We have a shooting at a housing complex. The shooter apparently sent text messages to a woman saying he was going to kill this guy. People, if someone says they're going to kill someone, call the cops.
- Then there was another shooting in Coal Center.
- Then a guy pretended to be an undercover narcotics officer and robbed someone.
- Charges were dropped against a woman who hit a man with her car.
- Charges were also dropped in a robbery case.
- Masontown police are fed up with street fighting, so stop it, you guys!
- Also in Masontown and gun news, a man threatened people the other day. Hooray.
- Frazier elementary was locked down after a student was threatened.
- A man is being charged with intimidating a witness after he threatened his wife with a knife in an attempt to get her to drop assault charges against him. Ladies, if he threatens you after he assaults you, you did the right thing by pressing charges in the first place. Get that boy in jail and stay away from him.
- No roundup is complete without sexual predators, and this time it's one who was sentenced to 12 years in prison and declared "a sexually violent predator."
- Meanwhile, another sex offender who admits being attracted to young girls has said he wants help. And if he's serious, at least it's a start and he's expressing concern rather than doing what everyone else does around here and acting on it.
- A 17-year-old says his sentence for a carjacking he committed when he was 15 is too harsh. Yeah, okay. He got 10 to 20 years after being found guilty of of robbery of a motor vehicle, robbery, simple assault, terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a minor, committing a crime with a firearm, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. That's a lot of charges. A lot of pretty bad charges. Methinks that 10 to 20 years makes sense, dude.
- A bussinessman has been fined for failing to maintain two properties in Connellsville. Get it together, Connellsville! First you let your buildings collapse, then a telephone pole, and now this! At least the fines will generate some maybe to, I don't know, perhaps fix that telephone pole.
Working in code enforcement in the 'burbs of Allegheny, I know how hard it is to get people to comply with even the most basic of things. I can't imagine how absurd the C'Ville slumlords are. One of the most frustrating things is the continued deterioration of the Aaron's Building. Of course, with a certain evangelical nutcase/unscrupulous businessman in possession of this structure, it will likely remain in this state.
